False allegations of child abuse in child custody cases are an all-too-common phenomenon

All too often, false allegations of abuse are made in child custody cases. Many times, judges will award the parent who made the accusation physical custody even when these allegations are unfounded. Once these decisions have been made, it is challenging and sometimes nearly impossible to have them reversed. Making false allegations of abuse are a form of domestic abuse and has profound and lasting effects on both the victim and their children.
