The “Man-Box” theory is the idea that there is only one right way to be a man. If a man does not fit into this ideal, then the idea is that they are not a “real man”. This “right way” involves a strict set of expectations, perceptions, appearance, and behaviours. Research has shown that men who feel pressure to meet this strict version of masculinity are twice as likely to consider suicide.
Everyone, including men, deserve to be who they are, without being judged or looked down on.
