This workshop will be led by Dr. Susan S. Chuang, Ph.D., an Associate Professor at the University of Guelph. Her primary research expertise include fathering, parenting, family dynamics and relationships, child/youth development, and mental health. She has published numerous articles and chapters, edited books and a human development textbook. She has conducted numerous volunteer parenting and youth workshops and has advised (for free) well over 100 families.
- Will provide concrete ways to enforce rules and routines that also promote accountability and responsibility in children and youth
- Parents need to discipline, set rules and boundaries, have consequences AND promote a sense of autonomy and independence to ensure children’s positive development
- We can have discussions about the difficulties of disciplining in post-separation days when children live in two separate, and very different households
- Time will be open for Q & A
